Girls Baseball Hat Crochet Pattern - Dreams and Caffeine

Girls Baseball Hat Crochet Pattern

Hello fellow crocheters!  I have a special treat today for anyone who loves baseball, baby girls, and crochet… a girl’s crochet baseball hat pattern.  My nephew, who used to play baseball in college, recently had the joy of his wife delivering a healthy baby girl and I wanted to make a welcoming gift that paid homage to her baseball loving father.  Hence, the girls crochet baseball hat pattern was created!  And, because I like to share, I wanted to offer up the pattern for free to all of my visitors!

The pattern I am posting is written for 0-3 months, but you can adjust the number of stitches and rows to get the hat size you need.

Materials:

Hook I/9 – 5.50 mm

Caron Simply Soft Medium 4 – White

FLOWER

Hook H/8 – 8.500 mm

Row 1:  10 HDC in MR (10 total stitches); SS ST in the top of previous Ch1

Row 2:  Ch1; 2HDC in each stitch (20 total stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

Row 3:  Ch1; *2HDC in first stitch, then 1HDC in next*, repeat from the * until the end of row (30 stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

Row 4:  Ch1; *2HDC in the first stitch, then 1HDC in the next two stitches*, repeat from the * until the end of the row (40 total stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

I stopped increasing here because my hat measured 4.5”, which is a great size for a newborn.

Row 5:  Ch1; HDC in each stitch (40 total stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

Row 6:  Ch1; DC in each stitch (40 total stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

Row 8:  Ch1; DC in each stitch (40 total stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

Row 9-11:  Ch1; SC in each stitch (40 total stitches); SS ST in top of previous Ch1

Finish off and weave in ends – my final length of the hat was about 4.5”

CONGRATS!  You have now finished your hat…onto the flower we go!

ASSEMBLING the GIRL CROCHET BASEBALL HAT

Using the yarn needle and red yarn, I stitched on the V’s on each side to resemble baseball stitching.  Then I sewed the flower on… positioning is 100% up to you.  Lastly, I sewed the button in the middle of the flower.  You now have one adorable girls crochet baseball hat!

I really hope you enjoyed my pattern!  Please feel free to sell to your hearts galore any hats made from this pattern, but please do not sell my pattern nor use my pictures.  I would greatly appreciate a link back to this post, but it’s not a requirement…just greatly appreciated!

I would love for you to share pictures of your completed hat or any comments! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will try to help as much as I can.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Cheers to Crochet!
